Beginners Gardening Day with Ciaran Farrelly

Beginners Gardening Day with Ciaran Farrelly

Do you covet pictures of beautiful gardens online and have no idea where to start?  You are not alone!

Join Ciarán Farrelly at Hunting Brook on the 7th September, for a brand new one day class that will turn the sod of gardening, giving you the confidence to get your fingers green and your boots mucky.

Ciarán is an energetic gardener with a love for talking to groups about all things plants and gardens.  He is one of the many students that have passed through the gardens at Hunting Brook on their journey to a fine career in horticulture; currently working as a craft gardener in the National Botanic Gardens Glasnevin.

In this class Ciarán will cover the basics of gardening including propagation, plant nutrition, plant selection and how to create a new flower bed. Famous plantsmen, garden designers, successful growers and the home gardeners all have one thing in common; they had to start somewhere. This workshop will give you the skills and confidence to start gardening at home and is your first stepping stone to a hobby or career that will give you years of pleasure.
