One Year Plantsperson's Class
- Illustrated talks about superior plants, their origins, understanding where they would choose to grow and the conditions they need to grow well and where to source them
- Creating plant combinations for impact in the garden through the consideration of form, texture, colour, structure and the effect of natural lighting
- Practical demonstrations on planting, pruning, propagation and maintenance
- Tours of local plant nurseries with a focus on the merits of the more unusual and new plants which are commercially available
The course takes place over one year (one Saturday per month) with a break in January and is especially suited to horticulture students and keen gardeners who want to update and expand their current plant knowledge. The aim of the course is to provide students with an extensive plant knowledge which will allow them to work effectively and creatively in the trade or in their own gardens by the end of the course. An optional end of term tour of English gardens and nurseries will be led by Jimi at an additional cost. Spaces are limited. Course dates for the 2009/2010 class are 19th September, 17th Otober, 14th November, 20th February, 20th March, 17th April, 15th May, 19th June, 17th and 18th July and 14th and 15th August. Please note that the course fee can be paid in installments.
